Love Me Some Sonic

For about two years now, I have been suffering through Sonic commercials showing all the delicious foods that I remember from when I lived in Alabama. And their sweet tea is to die for!

Thing is...there were no Sonic's in the Chicagoland area that I could find. So why were there so many commercials for an area that had no Sonics?

Well my husband found out last night.

A Sonic has FINALLY!!! opened up down the street from my house and the line of cars waiting to get in filled the length of a Walmart parking lot. My husband parked his car at the other end of Walmart and walked over to Sonic and stood in line just to get my sweet tea and some shakes.

There must have been a LOT of hungry people watching those tempting Sonic commercials for two years in order for the place to have a line of cars for goodness sake! I have never heard of a fast-food restaurant getting so much publicity and so many first-time customers

Sonic knew what they were doing. Get us all worked up over the commercials and then sneak a restaurant in and see the locals jockey for position in line.

If you are lookin' for me tonight, I'll be camping out in the Walmart parking lot line waiting for a Sonic breakfast.

That sweet tea was divine!

  3. Sonic #1 burgers are close to the best I've ever had too...right below the Hardee's thick burger!

I love the commercials too...that lady will kill him one day soon!

  4. I absolutely love Sonic. It has always been a must stop while visiting my Grandma in Mississippi every year. Finally I just heard myself of 2 Sonics in the Chicago land area. Next time I head out shopping at Fox Valley I have to stop at Sonic.

  5. Yeah, one Sonic is in Country Club Hills near me and one near Aurora. My brother-in-law says they have one in that area, but I don't know where it is.

I went by the CCH one the other day and they were still queing cars up in the Walmart parking lot. I'll just wait a bit longer to see if the crowds die down soon.

  6. Reminds me of a funny story about the first Sonic my ex-wife and I had ever been to years ago, which was new to our town; and we went inside to order. Duh!
