Thanksgiving - A Humorous Acrostic Poem

Thanksgiving
by Dana

Tis' another year
Happy are we to sit at the table
And gorge ourselves silly...
Never pausing to say hello to Aunt Bertha or Uncle
Ken, just eating away,
Slobbering our turkey and
Gibblet gravy.
Instead of pausing to give thanks,
Voraciously we dig
Into our food,
Not even stopping when
Grandma glares at us with her beady little eyes.

*acrostic poems - first letter of each sentence spells out the title of the poem...in this case, "Thanksgiving".
