When I was attending university years ago, I wasn't really sure what I wanted to study, to be honest. I ended up choosing a major in TV and Film production with a minor in Marketing. I figured I would go into the world of television news. For a while, it was great! I loved working for the Public Relations Dept at the university, helping make commercials, spots, interviews, etc.. I loved the limelight, even if I was the one behind the camera.
But while taking Microeconomics, I hit a road block. I failed the class. Then I took it again, and I failed again. I figured out that I was not made for anything mathematical. LOL
I changed to a Creative Writing minor and fell in love. I have always been a major bookworm, but never really tried to write my own stories. I have to admit, I am not the best of writers. I am especially not that great at expressing myself on this blog. I have found others who can write a post that just brings in flocks of readers, but that will never be me.
I have found that I write pretty good poetry and short stories. The thing is, I can't post them here much because of publishing rights. I want to have my work published elsewhere. My goal isn't grand; I just want to publish a book of short stories and poems, or maybe two, and I am learning what it takes every day.
I am a simple person that just wants to evoke memories of home in my writing. Maybe someday I will realise my ultimate goal, as for now I am seeing my works come to life in journals and ezines and I am gaining confidence every day.
I hope that ya'll will come back now and then and see what I have written and I hope that you will be entertained.

"I believe that no matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, you can not baptize cats." - Larry the Cable Guy
A Tennessee man and an Alabama man were both fighting in a war and were captured by the enemy.
"Before we put you to death," said the enemy, "do you have any last requests?"
"Yes," said the Alabaman. "Could you play 'Yeah, Alabama' before you shoot me?"
"Sure," said the enemy. "How about you, Tennessean?"
"Could you shoot me before you play 'Yeah, Alabama?'"
