I swear, today has been "one of those days". I have been running around doing errands and working in the school library, and I am not looking my best.
I slept late.
I thought I would be OK without a shower since I had one last night, but as I was walking through Sears, I noticed a smell. It was a very faint smell, but a smell none-the-less and it was coming from me.
I was horrified and embarrassed. Could anyone else smell it? I could and that's all that mattered.
So as soon as I got to Walmart to pay off my credit card, I found some mango body spray and liberally sprayed my self, scaring the woman next to me, who gave me a look that accused me of stealing.
"I'm buying it!" was all I said, and I hightailed it to the checkout counter.
Turns out it was my laundry. My shirt had been in the washer this morning, as I forgot to dry the load last night. It must have mildewed slightly, making it give off a slight mildewy smell. Didn't matter. No one else would have known that - they would have just thought I was stinky and had bad hygiene.
Lesson Learned: Never leave wet laundry in the washer overnight.
So if I come across y'all in the store someday and you smell something stinky, I promise...it's the clothes, not me. ;) Now I have to go buy some more laundry detergent and Downy.
