Boogie Nights
You know, I used to be great at roller skating. In my childhood's past, I'd go every Friday night and disco skate with my friends. I could go backwards, do spins, and couple skate with boys.

But, that was the past.

Last week I took my boys to a school skating party. There weren't that many kids there and the floor was quite empty, so I got a wild idea that I might go out and skate for the first time in 30 years.

Yeah, you are imagining this aren't 'ya?

I only fell once, but was wobbly for a long time. Not only am I older, but I am much larger with more mass upstairs than before. My poor widdle feet had a hard time supporting this larger mass while on wheels. My shin muscles were exhausted after only one trip around the rink.

After a while, I got much better at keeping my balance again, but unfortunately, my leg muscles were still too weak to let me skate more than one time around the rink.

And to add to that, my son's friends kept giving me weird looks as they passed by me on in-line skates. Plus, since I am the librarian this year, other students kept yelling out my name or just "Hey Library Lady!" as I wobbled around.

Talk about embarrassing.

"I believe that no matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, you can not baptize cats." - Larry the Cable Guy

A Tennessee man and an Alabama man were both fighting in a war and were captured by the enemy.
"Before we put you to death," said the enemy, "do you have any last requests?"
"Yes," said the Alabaman. "Could you play 'Yeah, Alabama' before you shoot me?"
"Sure," said the enemy. "How about you, Tennessean?"
"Could you shoot me before you play 'Yeah, Alabama?'"
