Sorry, I haven't posted in a while, but I'll get right back on the bandwagon with a delicious recipe from A Taste of Freedom - The Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort Officer's Wives' Club Cookbook.
My sister's husband is stationed out of Beaufort, SC - beautiful town by the way, right near the coast in the lowlands and home to Parris Island Marine Corps Recruit Depot - and the Wives' Club publishes a cook book every year. This particular recipe is from the 2003 edition. Here we go...
Cheddar Garlic Biscuits
(recipe submitted by Christina Edwards VMFA(AW) - 332)
2 c. baking mix, such as Bisquick
2/3 c. milk
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
2 Tbsp. melted butter or magarine
1/8 tsp. garlic powder and a dash or two of garlic salt
Mix first three ingredients to form soft dough. Drop by spoonfulls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 - 10 minutes at 450°. Mix butter, garlic powder, and garlic salt and brush over cooked biscuits.
That's it and if it is anything like other cheddar biscuits I have eaten, it will be wonderful. Eat hearty!

"I believe that no matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, you can not baptize cats." - Larry the Cable Guy
A Tennessee man and an Alabama man were both fighting in a war and were captured by the enemy.
"Before we put you to death," said the enemy, "do you have any last requests?"
"Yes," said the Alabaman. "Could you play 'Yeah, Alabama' before you shoot me?"
"Sure," said the enemy. "How about you, Tennessean?"
"Could you shoot me before you play 'Yeah, Alabama?'"
