Snow, Woods and Prison Break
Hey y'all! What a weekend! Friday night I had to go to a cub scout campout at Pilcher Park in Joliet, IL. It is a beautiful place all nestled in the woods, and the nature center where we slept is a log lodge building. Probably the closest I'll ever get to having a log home of my own. ;) Did I ever tell y'all that I wanted one? Well, I would love to have a log home someday, sitting in the woods somewhere in Alabama or Tennessee. It would have a rock fireplace and a basement for those nights that you have to hide from the tornadoes that sweep through now and then.

OK, back to the campout.... The boys had fun. After pizza, there was a bonfire outside in the snow. I must have had on three layers of clothes to keep warm. While we were eating smores, it started snowing again, making for some gorgeous photos. I had tons of fun taking pictures with my new camera.

We also went for a hike and learned about tapping maple trees and making maple syrup. As an added bit of interest, we learned that Fox shot some scenes for their show, Prison Break, in Pilcher Park. Not sure what episode, but it had to do something with running through the woods, hiding in a shack and digging a well...? Something about a body in the ground too. I don't remember much since I was too busy freezing and taking pictures to really listen. Let that be a lesson. ;)

Anyway, I didn't sleep a wink that night due to being so uncomfortable on my inflatable bed, but waking up the next morning to an additional 3 inches of snow in the woods was actually very nice. It was beautiful and so peaceful.

That is, until all of the scouts woke up and wanted their pancake breakfast.

"I believe that no matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, you can not baptize cats." - Larry the Cable Guy

A Tennessee man and an Alabama man were both fighting in a war and were captured by the enemy.
"Before we put you to death," said the enemy, "do you have any last requests?"
"Yes," said the Alabaman. "Could you play 'Yeah, Alabama' before you shoot me?"
"Sure," said the enemy. "How about you, Tennessean?"
"Could you shoot me before you play 'Yeah, Alabama?'"
