I'm just sitting here at the school library listening to Elvis sing "Here Comes Santa Claus" and "Blue Christmas". Now, I'm not a big Elvis fan, but he does sing the Christmas songs nicely.

I had a Christmas party for the two fifth grade classes today for being so good in library all semester. We had cookies, candy, and lemonade, played games and listened to music. They had a good time, but I hope their moms don't call me tonight because the kids are all hyper due to all of the sugar.

I don't have anything profound to say today. I'm just in a nice, comfortable mood...finally relaxed for a while, you know. It's not often I am.

Last night the kids had karate. I work the front table taking payments and selling equipment, so I've gotten to know some of the parents and kids. It's fun watching them learn and I love seeing their faces when they are promoted. My oldest just went up to purple belt last night and youngest is second degree orange. They both want to be black belts some day. We'll see. That will be a long time from now.

Their sensei (karate instructor) is a very nice man and gave me a gift card to a book store. Now how did he know I loved books more than anything???

I still have lots of shopping to do. In fact, now that I have no more library classes, maybe I'll go ahead and leave and get that taken care of....
