My friend, Scott, reminded me that today was our 20th anniversary of starting work at Disney World on the Magic Kingdom College Program. Of course, today it is called the Disney College Program, but back then, there were only two parks, The MK and Epcot.

We lived at Snow White Village in Kissimmee in trailers on Seven Dwarf Lane. Cheesy, true, but we had a lot of fun there.

Scott and I drove all night from Alabama to Florida to get there at check in time. I remember at one point, as I was driving, a rabbit ran across the road in front of us, and scared the crap out of Scott, who was half-way asleep. It was funny and I need to tease him about it again.

We got there early, so we went to the closest restaurant, Waffle House, and had breakfast. After that, I decided that I wanted to drive to see my aunt and cousin in Apopka, and then almost got hopelessly lost trying to get there.

All I remember is that when we finally checked in at Snow White Village, I slept for hours.

I worked at the Haunted Mansion that semester. Loved that job! What a fun time! I met so many interesting people and had so much fun that I decided to stay the summer as well. The next year, I signed on again so I could open the Great Movie Ride at the brand new Disney-MGM Studio. That's a whole other story.

So much as happened to me since that time twenty years ago. People I knew have married, had kids, and have even died. I just wish I had more pictures to keep the memories fresh.
