I have been reuniting with old friends via Facebook.com lately. It has been a blast!
First, I started out with old college band buddies, high school peers, and then graduated to Disney College Program alumni from both years that I participated.
In fact, it has been 20 years since I helped to open the Great Movie Ride at the (ex) Disney-MGM Studios, now known as Disney's Hollywood Studios. 20 years!!!! Time does indeed fly fast. It seems just yesterday that I met these amazing kids from all over the country, learned to work with them, and to party with them.
When we weren't at the beach or playing in the Magic Kingdom, we were learning basic acting for our roles as the bandit in the Western scene, and the ganster in the, well...Gangster scene. We learned crowd control, got to see and meet celebrities on opening night, made more than one mistake in our jobs, and got to have some of the most fun we had ever had.
One of those ladies is named Kristin Stone, but we all called her "Missy" back in those days.
Today, she is a professional actress in LA and has her own entertainment company. Her show, Inside Private Lives, is going strong and requires audience participation.
So if anyone is in the LA area, y'all go see Kristin and the rest of the cast for me. I don't think I'll get to see the show unless I can persuade her to bring it to Chicago.
You hearing me, Missy??? Chicago would love your show! Bring it on!
