I saw this over on Jaye's blog and thought it might be fun. OK, Jaye, I am copying the instructions from your blog, hon. Hope you don't mind if I "steal" a little. ;)
Directions:
1. Take first five novels from your bookshelf.
2. Book 1 -- first sentence
3. Book 2 -- last sentence on page 50
4. Book 3 -- second sentence on page 100
5. Book 4 -- next to the last sentence on page 150
6. Book 5 -- final sentence of the book
7. Make the five sentences into a paragraph.
8. Feel free to "cheat" to make it a better paragraph.
9. Name your sources
10.Post to your blog.
OK, so here's mine.
David swirled the last of his coffee around the bottom of his mug, looked past the prow of his ship to the sloping green lawn of Camden Harbor Park, and wondered for the hundredth time in the past two hours what the devil had happened to his cook, Lucy. She excelled at evoking the atmosphere of traditional hominess and solid domesticity that is associated with the past, David observed. But since it seemed like months since shed been free of human chatter, the pressure of words on her brain, eyes on her skin, maybe she went to a hotel. And like the sky above the resort in his mind, there was something off here, something not quite right, and while hed been planning to call his father and find out what he was doing, David held off, stayed back, observing the scene in his mind. Lucy was the luckiest woman in the world.
Book 1 - Love Overboard by Janet Evanovich
Book 2 - Homesick: A Memoir by Sela Ward
Book 3 - Blood Lure by Nevada Barr
Book 4 - The Resort by Bentley Little
Book 5 - You've Got Game by Patricia Kay
That was fun. A little tweaking made it flow better. Too fun!

"I believe that no matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, you can not baptize cats." - Larry the Cable Guy
A Tennessee man and an Alabama man were both fighting in a war and were captured by the enemy.
"Before we put you to death," said the enemy, "do you have any last requests?"
"Yes," said the Alabaman. "Could you play 'Yeah, Alabama' before you shoot me?"
"Sure," said the enemy. "How about you, Tennessean?"
"Could you shoot me before you play 'Yeah, Alabama?'"
