Over at USA Deep South's message board recently, we posted about our first kisses in 100 words or less. Here's my offering... hmmm, I might have to put this to poetry later...
Dana’s First Kiss (in 100 words)
His name was Heath and we were in fifth grade. He reminded me of Leif Garrett and he was "going" with my best friend, Sheila.
The roller rink was host to many kids on Friday night. Disco played "Boogie Nights", "Disco Inferno", and anything by Donna Summers, while we skated and were young.
I was flattered when he asked me to skate with him. To this day, I can’t remember the song, but I remember the kiss.
It was my first French kiss.
Wet, sloppy, and destroyed my friendship with Sheila. Was it worth it? Yes, it was worth it.
Feel free to share your first kiss memories in the comments section.
And this is my blog... Kudzu, funny family stories, poems, family ghosts, snakes, sun-kissed southern memories all inside! Plus some travel reviews, recipes and more! I also make handcrafted jewelry! Check out my jewelry blog - Colors of the Woods

A Tennessee man and an Alabama man were both fighting in a war and were captured by the enemy.
"Before we put you to death," said the enemy, "do you have any last requests?"
"Yes," said the Alabaman. "Could you play 'Yeah, Alabama' before you shoot me?"
"Sure," said the enemy. "How about you, Tennessean?"
"Could you shoot me before you play 'Yeah, Alabama?'"
