Today my youngest child was complaining about some girls in his Kindergarten class. It seems as if these young gals were trying to play with the boys in recess and the boys thought they were yucky and said ,"No!"

(shaking head) There's nothing wrong with boys and girls playing together.

I was a tomboy for most of my growing up years. My two best friends in the world were boys and we had many hours of playing together. Because of them, I learned how to build a fort in the woods, play cowboys and indians, extreme hide-and-seek, swim underwater, ride a dirt bike, shoot a B B gun, climb bluffs, etc... We even built our own miniature golf course under the pine trees and played for hours!

After I grew up some, we still hung out and had a blast. Both boys have escorted me to band banquets when I needed a date and lended me their books when I was in a reading mood.

I owe a lot to them for making my childhood just plain wonderful.

So, thank you Kevin and Chris King, my best friends. Without you, my childhood wouldn't have been nearly as fun.
