Pythons, Gators and Iguanas...Oh My!

Well, today was the annual Blue and Gold Dinner for the Cub Scouts at our church. We started off having to go to the 10 o'clock mass where the Bears (my son included) received their Parvuli Dei awards from the deacon. It's a special medal, a pin and a patch.

Afterward, we all went over to the lunchroom and had dinner. The caterers this year were very good, better then last year for sure. We had fried chicken, beef sandwiches au jus, and mostacchioli. There was plenty left over, so we moms fixed up some take home bags. Guess what we are having for supper tonight? ;)

For entertainment, a traveling reptile guy came with some cool slithering...um...things. Now, I hate, I hate, I hate snakes, but the alligator was pretty neat. When he brought out the albino python though, I quietly made my way into the kitchen where I started cleaning up. Somebody had to do it. However, little one really liked the snakes and just had to pet them. Not me. No thank you.

Our cake didn't win the Dad and Son Cake Bake, but it was very popular and almost entirely eaten. That's saying a lot because there were many interesting cakes there. We ended up going with the Pac Man idea and I have to say, the guys did a fantastic job.

Hope your weekend was nice. Ours is freezing cold. Though we'd get by with no artic weather, but I was wrong. At least there is no snow.

Now y'all just relax and enjoy the rest of the day and come back soon, ya' hear!

"I believe that no matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, you can not baptize cats." - Larry the Cable Guy

A Tennessee man and an Alabama man were both fighting in a war and were captured by the enemy.
"Before we put you to death," said the enemy, "do you have any last requests?"
"Yes," said the Alabaman. "Could you play 'Yeah, Alabama' before you shoot me?"
"Sure," said the enemy. "How about you, Tennessean?"
"Could you shoot me before you play 'Yeah, Alabama?'"
