These past few days I have been doing research on direct sales parties. You know, stuff like Avon, Party Lite, Mary Kay, etc... Seeing as we really could use the extra income, and since childcare costs so much, I thought setting my own hours would be perfect for me.

The company that intrigues me the most is The Traveling Vineyard. It offers a wine tasting in the comfort of your home and afterward, guests can order wines and wine accessories from the consultant and they are shipped directly to the guest.

Sounds like a lot of fun.

But, like any other consultant job, it has it's start up fees. And you have to work hard at getting bookings, selling your product and marketing yourself.

So, is it for me? I think so. It would be my business, so I would be responsible for my own success/failure. Plus, I love wine, so it sounds like a good fit. The only downside is that The Traveling Vineyard doesn't ship to all 50 states due to direct shipping laws. So, if I move to Alabama in a year or so, I wouldn't be able to continue being a consultant. That is, unless Alabama changes their laws regarding direct shipping. So if any Alabama lawmakers are reading this...get busy changing those laws folks! ;)

Basically, I have a headache thinking about it all.
